According to the U.S. Attorney's office, 26 year old Kollin King of Hamburg was placed under arrest when he showed up at a Cheektowaga restaurant to meet a 14 year old boy. But the meeting turned out to be with an undercover agent posing as a 14 year old boy.

King is a fourth grade teacher at Blasdell Elementary School. But, so far, officials in the Frontier District have yet to comment on the situaiton.

King is also a Den leader for Cub Scouts at Our Lady of Good Council Church in Blasdell. The arrest followed a tip from Cheektowaga Police that King may have been soliciting minors on the internet for sex. According to the FBI, the tip came from a concerned parent.

Officials with the Greater Niagara Frontier Council say King has been actively involved with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts since childhood. He has also worked summers at Camp Scouthaven near Arcade since 1997. King was due to become director of the camp this year.

"He has been informed not to have any contact whatsoever with the scouting program," says Executive Director Patrick Coviello. Coviello adds that King has a clean record with the organization and no complaints of improper conduct.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI's Cyber Task Force. An agent, posing as a 14 year old, had been chatting with King on-line since December 2005.

After his arrest, King admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a 16 year old boy he met on the internet, according to the U.S. Attorney's office. But he denied having inappropriate contact with children at Blasdell Elementery or his Cub Scout Den.
