Should the U.S. stay in Iraq or should the troops leave?
How has war been managed?
You ask Congressmen Tom Reynolds and Brian Higgins those questions and you get two different answers.
Reynolds says "the President and the generals in Iraq should make the decision as to how long troops stay there."
Higgins says "I think we should be talking about a timetable (for withdrawl). I don't think we can be there long term, that's clear."
The positions of Reynolds and Higgins on the war reflect the split in Western New York.
In an exclusive Survey USA Poll of 500 area residents, we asked "How long do you think American troops should stay in Iraq?"
40% say the troops should leave now; 19% say they should leave in six months; 31% say they should stay as long as necessary.
