The family of a missing Jamestown woman turned to friends and volunteers again Sunday to help them search in an area around Jamestown. They are looking for any trace of 25 year old Yolanda Bindics.
Bindics has been missing since the night of August 10th when she left her job at the Family Dollar Store on Fluvanna Avenue. Her car, a 1996 burgundy Ford Taurus sedan, was later found at a nearby Arby's restaurant.
Bindics is the mother of four young children and her family is disputing some rumors in the community that she may have just gone off on her own. They say Bindics loved her kids and would have called to make sure they were okay.
Reports have surfaced about some of Bindic's relationships including a Jamestown police officer who has now been placed on administrative leave. But her sisters again maintain that it would be completely out of character for her to just leave without contacting someone.
The family says they found some unspecified items which they want police to check. They are still hoping that anyone with information or anyone who saw something regarding Yolanda will contact police.
