Police in Hamburg are looking for more possible young victims of a registered sex offender living in their town.

Earlier this month, police arrested 46-year-old Peter Armbruster of Pleasant Avenue and charged him with sexually molesting two boys.

Sources tell Channel 2 News the acts allegedly occurred in Armbruster's home.

They also say that Armbruster has a prior criminal history of having sexual contact with children.

Despite that, Armbruster's criminal past is not covered by Megan's law. The law was enacted in January of 1996. Anyone convicted prior to that date is not covered under the law, which requires police to notify community members who could potentially be affected by a sex offender moving into their community.

Although police were not able to speak specifically about Armbruster's prior conviction, 2 On Your Side was able to confirm that Armbruster is on the state's sex offender registry.
