New Team Replaces Bosom Buddies Walk

Roswell Park is teaming up with the American Cancer Society for this year's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Roswell Park is teaming up with the American Cancer Society for the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Canalside on October 15th.

New this year is Roswell's large team, Team Roswell Bosom Buddies, which replaces the longtime Bosom Buddies walk in East Aurora.

Organizers say the new partnership is a way to share resources, gain support, and spread their message and mission. Fifty percent of the proceeds from Roswell Park's team will go to the hospital's Breast Resource Center.

It's a place where breast cancer patients can come to get more information and free wigs.  It's open to any breast cancer patient in Western New York, not just those who are being treated at Roswell Park.

The center will celebrate its 20th anniversary this winter.
