Motorcyclist dies after Town of Hanover crash

TOWN OF HANOVER, N.Y. -- Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies say a Buffalo motorcyclist involved in a Town of Hanover crash Monday has died.

After the crash, the motorcyclist, Michael P. Shoemaker, 60, of Buffalo, was flown to the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC). Deputies said Tuesday they were informed Shoemaker had died from his injuries.

Authorities responded to the crash around 4:32 p.m. Monday. They say Tammy L. Mays, 48, of Silver Creek hit the motorcyclist with her vehicle. She was charged with failure to to yield right of way at a stop sign.

Mays will appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.
