Young Hit & Run Victim Wakes Up From Coma

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A representative from Women and Children's Hospital says a young hit and run victim has awakened from a coma.

The 7-year-old,  Tremont Seals, was severely injured when a vehicle struck him on Loring Ave in Buffalo July 4 around 11:30 p.m.

He was critically injured and was in a coma at Women and Children's Hospital -- until Wednesday.

"He is awake and headed in the right direction," Michael Hughes, a Kaleida Health spokesperson, said. He also said the 7-year-old is a bit shaky and still not able to talk.

But Hughes added the child is "certainly getting great care and great support."

Buffalo Police are continuing to try and identify the driver involved in the hit and run. Police are also looking for a 4-door gray sedan believed to be involved. Anyone with information is asked to call the Buffalo Police Confidential TIPCALL Line at (716) 847-2255.
