Hundreds Attend Funeral for Trooper Ross Riley

OLEAN, NY - Family, friends, and hundreds of members of law enforcement from across the state and country gathered to pay their respects today to New York State Trooper Ross Riley.

Trooper Riley, a 17-year veteran of the State Police, was killed last week during a training exercise at Letchworth State Park.

Riley was a member of the Special Operations Response Team, or SORT. He was also a trained paramedic and taught others those skills.

Hundreds of friends and family and fellow law officers filled the Reilly Center at St. Bonaventure University for Trooper Riley's funeral. Trooper Riley is survived by his wife, Heidi, who is a Sergeant in the New York State Police, and their three young daughters.

Governor Cuomo was supposed to attend, but was unable to due to the weather.
