WNY army hero meets President Obama

Major Miller & Family Meet With President Obama

HAWAII -- A Western New York army hero received another honor recently -- showing off his family to country's Commander in Chief.

Major Patrick Miller, who is from Allegany, and his wife Ashley didn't just meet President Obama. The couple also introduced him to their newborn daughter Harper while speaking with the president just before he flew to China.

Major Miller became known as a hero in 2014 when he was shot in the abdomen during the attack at Ford Hood. Although he was injured, Miller led several others to safety.

Miller received the Solder's Medal, which is a very prestigious military honor. Miller now works as the chief financial officer at a Hawaii military hospital.
