Vehicle hit by train in Chautauqua County

TOWN OF POMFRET, NY — Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says that a vehicle was struck by a train on Berry Road in the Town of Pomfret on Saturday night.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Kayla Boedner, 20, allegedly moved a road-closed barrier and attempted to cross the tracks when her vehicle got stuck. When Boedner realized a train was approaching, she exited the vehicle.

The train was unable to stop and struck the vehicle.

Boedner was issued a traffic ticket for failing to obey a traffic control device.

No one was injured.

The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m.
