Third person dies following Hartland crash

2 People Killed, 1 Person in Critical Condition

TOWN OF HARTLAND, N.Y. —  A third person has died following a crash in Niagara County over the weekend.

Mary Ruth Haberman, 77, of Eggertsville, died Monday in Erie County Medical Center, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.

Two people died Sunday from the two-vehicle crash in the Town of Hartland Sunday night. The Sheriff's Office says a car drove through a stop sign and was t-boned by a truck.

The accident happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Quaker Road and Ridge Road.

Margaret A. Hammerl, 82 and Andrew J. Hammerl, 84, both of Connecticut were killed.

The driver of the pickup, Tony E. Wagner, 29 of Gasport, had the right away according to police. He was not hurt. 

The Niagara County Accident Investigation Unit is handling the investigation.
