NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Two people were injured in a three vehicle accident Saturday on Niagara Falls Boulevard.
The Niagara Falls Police Department Crash Management Team responded to the 8800 block of Niagara Falls Blvd. to investigate the accident at about 9:30 a.m.
They found a 46-year-old woman from Lewiston had been driving a 2015 Honda Civic west on Niagara Falls Blvd. when she struck a 2007 Dodge taxi cab being driven by a 61-year-old Niagara Falls man.
The Dodge had just dropped off a fare and was backing up from a parking lot onto Niagara Falls Blvd. when the accident happened, officials say.
After hitting the Honda, the cab driver lost control of his vehicle. Then he crossed over several lanes, struck a pole, then hit a parked vehicle.
An ambulance transferred the Honda driver to the Erie County Medical Center where she was treated for a broken arm, knee and possible head injuries.
The cab driver initially declined any treatment, but was later taken by ambulance to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to be evaluated for a head injury and knee pain, police say.
