WARSAW, N.Y. - A Grand Jury in Wyoming County has indicted Chad Staley and Tyler Jennings on criminally negligent homicide, second degree manslaughter, and endangering the welfare of a child charges in the death of two boys, Preston Giangregorio and Dylan Giangregorio.
Both boys were among a group of seven who went over the lower falls at Letchworth State park back in June. Two adults and three girls were rescued. The bodies of Preston and Dylan Giangregorio were found by rescue crews two days later.
“While this case is truly tragic and our hearts go out to the family of the Giangregorio family it is important to note that their deaths were 100% preventable," said Wyoming County District Attorney Donald O’Geen
in a released statement. " After reviewing the thorough investigation completed by members of the NYS Park Police, and personally surveying the area above the lower falls I felt that a review by the members of the Wyoming County Grand Jury was warranted and the indictment in this case was the result of their decision."
Both Staley and Jennings were arraigned in court. Their next court appearance is scheduled for January.
