TONAWANDA, N.Y. – An overnight Amber Alert in the City of Tonawanda has been canceled, and the missing nine year old girl has been found safe.
Police say Kevin Cetola,46, of Amherst, picked up his 9-year-old daughter from her City of Tonawanda home around 7pm Sunday, but the two never returned last night.
Police were contacted, and it was determined that an AMBER Alert would be issued.
During their investigation, police say they discovered items belonging to the suspect indicating intentions to harm or kill the child.
Police from Amherst, City of Tonawanda and Town of Tonawanda searched the area of Young Street and Colvin where they were last seen. Town of Tonawanda Police Officer Joseph Gioele found Kevin Cetola and his daughter at a gas station at Colvin and Highland.
Cetola was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. He could face charges in the City of Tonawanda.
Cetola was arraigned in Town of Tonawanda court and is being held pending a medical evaluation. He is due back in Town of Tonawanda Court on Thursday June 19.
