BUFFALO, N.Y. - The countdown to Taste of Buffalo is on. There will be 14 new places joining the list of food trucks and vendors this year.
One of the new food trucks is the #GetFried Fry Cafe, specializing in french fries and finger foods.
The featured item they will bring is their dutch style which is a straight-cut fry with a "Boom Boom" sauce. The sauce is like a chipotle mayo.
They will also bring their classic menu item, the "716". That is waffle fries with pulled chicken, Frank's hot sauce and drizzled blue cheese.
In addition, they will bring a sweet option. That will be a sweet potato fry, maple syrup, powdered sugar and cinnamon.
They will also have a healthy option (as healthy as you can be with fries!) that will include grilled potato wedges, truffle oil, Parmesan cheese and cilantro.
Chris Covelli, the owner of the Fry Cafe, said that they jumped at the opportunity to be part of Taste of Buffalo.
"It's the best food festival in the world," Covelli explained. "You have every good restaurant in Buffalo goes there. You get such a great turnout and for us being a new concept, it's a perfect opportunity to showcase our brand and our food to all of WNY and all the other visitors that come in."
In addition to branching out to the Taste of Buffalo, the Fry Cafe is branching out of the city with franchises in New York City, Texas and even Egypt. They say their goal is to bring Buffalo food all over the country and eventually the world.
Taste of Buffalo kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
