19-Year-Old Charged with Leaving the Scene of a Boating Accident

Bemus Point, NY - 19 year old, Peter J. Saunders was charged with leaving the scene of a boat accident after a lengthy investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff Marine Division.

The hit and run occured in the Bemus Point area on July 17th, when a 23 foot recreational vessel left the scene of the accident and failed to report it.

After investigation by the members of the marine division and with the assistance of several witnesses, the vessel and operator responsible was identified.

Saunders will answer to the charge in the Town of Ellery Court at a later date.
