Local Church to Hold Mass Through Facebook Invitation

St. Adalbert Church on Stanislaus Street in Buffalo is hoping that an invitation though Facebook could help spur attendance for a special July 25th mass.

A neighborhood advocate, Chris Byrd, along with church parishoners came up with the idea. Byrd, a web developer, says so far about 40 people have signed up through the online event, but hopes to eventually have about 200 people sign up.

St. Adalbert's is on the diocese church closing list, but it has an appeal pending with the Vatican with the point that it qualifies as an historic Basilica.
