BUFFALO, N.Y. -- From now on, all NEXUS Lanes entering Canada will extend their hours during Buffalo Sabres games. The NEXUS program allows pre-approved and low-risk travelers to cross the border with minimal questioning. This change should hopefully cut-down on back-ups at the border, and make traveling to the games easier for Canadians.
The NEXUS lanes are self-check in and out. When pulling up to a lane, the driver is greeted by a kiosk where they must insert their NEXUS Membership card.
To be accepted into the program, an applicate must be a citizen of the U.S. or Canada, and they must have lived there for a minimum of 3 years. If there is absolutely anything on the applicants criminal record, they cannot be accepted.
The program is operated by the Canada Border Services Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
