Close to 200 pregnant women in Western New York have just received the H1N1 vaccine.

University and Occupational Travel Health offered the vaccine on Friday afternoon at a clinic at Erie County Medical Center. The health group had a surplus of the coveted vaccine and wanted to make it available to the public. They asked the Erie County Health Department for direction and were instructed to make the vaccine available to pregnant women because they are included in the high risk group.

"I got sick last week and said if this is any worse because of the swine flu, I better get my shot," said Sandra Brown, a pregnant woman from Western New York.

Friday's clinic comes after several Western New Yorkers have complained they have not been able to find a doctor with the H1N1 virus vaccine.

The Erie County Health Department has decided against holding H1N1 vaccine clinics. Instead, they are trying to make sure local doctors get as many doses as possible.
