Investigators tell 2 On Your Side the officer walked into an armed robbery attempt around 5pm Wednesday at the AutoZone located at Broadway and Lathrop Street. The suspect fired at the officer, but did not hit him.
2 On Your Side's Josh Boose spoke with the AutoZone Assistant Store Manager.
"He turned, fired two shots, kicked the door and ran and the officer dodged the bullets, he dodged out of the way," said Anthony Cornwell.
Police say the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money. The Erie County Sheriff Department's helicopter and police K-9 units searched for the suspect Wednesday night. As of this posting update, no suspect is in custody.
