"The Boss" wowed thousands of loyal fans at the HSBC arena Sunday night, his final show ever with the E Street Band.
Before the concert, many fans anticipated the announcement. "[It's] definitely painful. I've been listening to them since I was a little kid," said Darren Walsh a fan who flew in from Chicago.
Many fans traveled far to see the last performance, including Scotland, Chicago, Los Angeles, Cleveland, and New Jersey.
All of these fans provided an economic boost for Buffalo over the weekend. Downtown hotels were completely sold out Sunday. "It's great, because it's a Sunday night, typically the slowest night of the week, and with a concert of this magnitude it really is a great start to the holiday week," said Hyatt General Manager Michael Marsch.
While Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have no future plans to perform again, many fans expect and hope Springsteen will perform solo down the road.
