The Powell family comes home tomorrow, and final work at the home is being completed. This morning Ashley Furniture is delivering furniture for the home.
Well-known recording artist Ashanti is also in town today.
The Red Cross blood drive in honor of the Powell family continues at School 77 at 370 Normal Avenue until 4 PM. All donors will receive a free American Red Cross/ Extreme Makeover Home Edition t-shirt. No appointment is needed.
As part of the show's on-going food drive, Labatt USA Friday morning donated a truckload of turkeys to benefit numerous food pantrys throughout Buffalo.
Speaking of food, Save A Lot will be in the neighborhood donating all the fixings for Thanksgiving dinner to some of the residents.
Buffalo ReUse will begin a green demolition of another property in the same west side neighborhood. Work will get underway at 369 Normal, a house already slated for demolition.
"It made sense to go ahead and continue with further improvements to the street since the rest of the block is getting a facelift. The neighborhood is getting a real morale boost," said Michael Gainer, Founder and Director of Programs at Buffalo ReUse.
