Two people are under arrest following the discovery of a methamphetamine lab in Genesee County.
The Sheriff's Department along with U.S. Drug Enforcement agents executed a search warrant early Thursday morning at a home on Lewiston Road in the Town of Alabama.
Authorities say they were tipped off to the lab about five weeks ago when they noticed sales of the drug taking place in Batavia and followed the trail from there.
A 44-year old man living at the Lewiston Road address is in federal custody. He lived in the home with his 17-year-old son in what was described as deplorable conditions. Neighbors say the two moved there from Texas about a year ago. A number of guns were also seized. Kenneth Mosholder, 44, is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. He was picked up Thursday morning at the home of an aquaintance in Batavia.
Dustin Benham, 20, of Alleghany Road in Darien, was at the town of Alabama home when agents arrived. He faces the same charge as Mosholder.
The sheriff's department says other charges may be pending and others may still be charged.
The chemicals used in the lab are considered toxic and flammable, so DEA chemists, along with members of the Genesee County Haz-Mat team, Emergency Management and the Alabama Fire Department were on scene.
The suspects are expected to appear in Federal Court in Buffalo sometime Thursday afternoon.
