An on-line auction of four tickets and E Street Lounge passes for Sunday's Bruce Springsteen concert brought in $14,100 for the Food Bank of Western New York; an amount that will be matched by the legendary rocker.
Sunday's 7:30pm concert at HSBC Arena is the last stop on the Boss' current tour.
Springsteen is a long-time supporter of food banks across the country, and he agreed to match any winning auction bid of $10,000 or more (up to $50,000), and he will hold a meet and greet with the four guests.
Food Bank of WNY spokesperson Mike Billoni said the winning bidder wishes to remain anonymous.
The E Street Lounge passes will enable the auction winner to go to a designated area to relax and have a drink before the show (a cash bar is available)-It does not promise or guarantee a meeting with any of the artists.
The benefit auction was held for the Food Bank of WNY through its Food 2 Families promotion, which is co-sponsored by Tops Friendly Markets and WGRZ-TV, Channel 2.
