North Tonawanda won the Section 6 Class AA Championship Saturday night at Ralph Wilson Stadium, beating Lancaster 54 to 7.

The game was scoreless after the first quarter but in the second quarter North Tonawanda began to roll as Lancaster began to struggle. That was not a good combination for the Redskins.

Joe Montesanti started the scoring with a touchdown run.  Lancaster move the ball close to midfield on the followed posession and then punted. North Tonwanda move smartly down the field with Steve Kijowski, who had a huge game, scoring on a 41 yard run touchdown run.

Down 14 to nothing disaster struck for Lancaster. Kijowski picked off a Justin Juda pass and returned it for a touchdown. On the following posession Lancaster turned it over again on a fumble and again NT took advantage of the turnover scoring a touchdown to make it 28 to nothing. NT led 34 to nothing at halftime.

Lancaster finishes its season at 9 & 1. North Tonawanda improves to 10 & zip on the season and heads to Rochester for the next round of the playoffs.

After the game North Tonawanda coach Eric Jantzi told his team if they continue to improve, "the sky's the limit" for them.
