We have an update on a story we brought you first on Channel 2 News.
The Faiella family moved to Western New York from Florida this summer for a better public school system.
They have since enrolled their son, Matthew, 8, in third grade in Williamsville and say he's doing better than ever.
Matthew has autism and he's being treated with some controversial methods.
He spends hours in the family's hyperbaric oxygen chamber. The chamber cost $16,000 dollars. His father gets in the chamber with him, that's closed up, and gives oxygen to Matthew's brain.
The family has also been traveling to Costa Rica to have stem cells injected into Matthew. The treatment is not approved in the United States to treat autism.
The family will make their final trip to Costa Rica next month.
Daniel Faiella is convinced these treatments gave him his son back.
He went from speaking two word sentences, to full sentences.
He's also written a book, "Out of the Darkness" and has a blog.
