If you have any issues with deer or are just interested in helping your community, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation would like to hear from you.

The DEC is looking for people interested in joining a "Citizen Task Force" that will provide contribute input to counties.

The management program works to maintain deer herds at levels compatible with people's use of the land, while minimizing negative impacts and providing high-quality hunting opportunities.

The department is especially interested in hearing from farmers, hunters, foresters, conservationists, motorists, the tourism industry, landowners and small business people.

If you're interested in being considered you need to call the DEC at 372-0645 as soon as possible. You will need to commit to conducting a survey in your area as well as attend several meetings.
