Winters in Western New York are long - especially when you have little ones prone to cabin fever. But there is a special place kids can go to burn off some of that toddler energy.
Rolly Pollies provides a great opportunity for indoor activity. Co-owner Danielle Fleckenstein says, "Ideally we want to get the kids active and physical at a young age. And our curriculum incorporates socialization, physical activity, as well as educational components."
Kids ages 6 and under can sign up for classes or play sessions - and learn to get their bodies moving.
Co-owner Jim Fleckenstein says, "Here everything is age specific. If you have a 2 year old, you can know your children are safe with all 2 year olds in the class. We are teaching them how to use their bodies and exercise while we're having fun."
Owners Jim and Danielle Fleckenstien are Western New York natives who have moved back here after living in California - with the mission of teaching kids how to have a healthy lifestyle.
Jim says, "if you get them moving when they're young, they'll keep moving as they grow older and hopefully avoid the issues that come with a sedentary lifestyle."
On a personal note, my four year old Max says Rolly Pollies is his all-time favorite "unique place!"
Rolly Pollies has locations at 4058 North Buffalo Road in Orchard Park (phone number 662-7424) and 9630 Transit Road in East Amherst (phone number 689-6151).
