A tractor trailer hauling live chickens rolled over on the ramp from the I-90 Westbound to the I-190 Northbound on Thursday afternoon, according to the New York State Police. The ramp was closed while crews cleaned up the mess from the accident.
State Police say the driver, Stanley Chesney of Walkerton, Ontario, was not hurt. Chesney was on his way to a chicken processing plant in Canada when the accident happened.
There were nearly 9,700 chickens on the truck. Some of the chickens did die in the accident. Those that could be saved were taken to the SPCA.
Chesney was charged with moving from a lane unsafely.
