FREDONIA, N.Y.-The Section VI Indoor Track & Field State Qualifiers were held on Thursday, February 21 at SUNY Fredonia's Steele Hall.
Local high school student-athletes who qualified for the meet competed for the right to participate at the state championships on March 2 at Cornell University's Barton Hall.
Clarence qualified an impressive 15 student-athletes while West Seneca West has 13 student-athletes earning state berths.
Williamsville South qualified seven athletes for states, led by Section VI record holder Devon Patterson, who set the benchmark in the shot put with a toss of 60' 4-3/4".
Lancaster's Jen Thill sets a new state girls pole vault record at 12' 8" and now ranks #7 in the nation.
