Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Shabazz Muhammad recorded a double-double
with 23 points and 10 rebounds as the UCLA Bruins defeated the Stanford
Cardinal, 68-60, in a Pac-12 battle at Pauley Pavilion.
Jordan Adams added 12 points, Travis Wear contributed 11 and Kyle Anderson
brought down 12 rebounds for UCLA (12-3, 2-0 Pac-12) which has won seven
straight.
Dwight Powell and Chasson Randle each scored 17 points, with the latter
bringing in 13 rebounds as well for Stanford (9-6, 0-2). John Gage added 10
points and Josh Huestis had 10 rebounds.
UCLA led 30-22 despite shooting just 36.0 percent in the first half by
holding Stanford to just a 26.9 field goal percentage in the first 20
minutes.
After halftime the Bruins improved to 46.2 percent shooting and using a 13-3
edge from the free throw line to pull out the victory.
Stanford shot just 34.4 percent in the game but did outscore the Bruins
21-9 from beyond the arc.
