Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Trevor Noack scored 24 points as the Belmont
Bruins cruised to a 76-49 win over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in a
non-conference matchup at the Curb Event Center.
Noack finished 9-of-13 from the floor in just 21 minutes for the Bruins (7-3).
Ian Clark scored 15 points while starting backcourt mate Kerron Johnson
contributed 13 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Blake Jenkins
registered a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 10 boards.
Nate Wolters led the way with 13 points and eight boards for SDSU (9-3), which
shot just 27.4 percent from the floor. Brayden Carlson added 12 points while
the remaining three starters for the Jackrabbits scored only nine combined
points on 3-of-19 from the field.
Belmont led 26-22 after a low scoring first half. The game was tied late in
the period but jump shots from Clark and Noack gave the Bruins a four-point
advantage heading into the intermission.
The contest remained close for the early stages of the second half. SDSU
managed to tie the score on a Tony Fiegen layup with 12:18 remaining, but it
went the next 8:35 of game time without a field goal. Belmont took advantage
with an 18-0 run to take control of the game.
Belmont has won three of its last four contests while SDSU suffered a setback
for just the second time in their last 10 outings.
