NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y.-With the time running out in regulation Newfane senior Reid Weber hit a three pointer to tie the Panthers game with St. Mary's at 49 and send it into overtime.
The Panthers went on to win it 61-56. Weber wound up with 14 points none bigger than the three to tie it at the end of regulation. Another senior # 23 Connor Sears led the way with 23 points for Newfane.
For St. Mary's the top scorer was # 3 senior Paul Rath who finished with 16 points.
It was the season opener for both teams. The game was part of the Cataract City Classic at Niagara Falls High School.
