AMHERST, NY - A special memorial walk was held almost one year to the day that Alix Rice was killed along an Amherst Street.
Family and friends gathered at Williamsville North High school at Hopkins and Dodge then walked down Heim Road to the Getzville Fire Hall. They then walked back down Heim Rd. and stopped at Alix's memorial where the family said a few words.
Rice was the teenage girl who was struck and killed while riding her longboard last year by Doctor James Corasanti, who was found not guilty of charges by a jury in May.
