Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Alexandre Burrows, Alexander Edler and Maxim
Lapierre all scored in the shootout, lifting the Vancouver Canucks to their
seventh straight win, 5-4 over the Anaheim Ducks.
Burrows tallied twice in regulation while Lapierre and Chris Higgins also lit
the lamp for Vancouver, which kept pace with the New York Rangers, who
defeated Philadelphia 5-3 Tuesday, in the race for the President's Trophy.
Both teams have 109 points with two contests remaining.
Dan Hamhius and Henrik Sedin each registered two assists.
Roberto Luongo allowed four goals on 15 shots before being pulled in favor of
Cory Schneider in the second period. Schneider stopped all nine shots he saw.
Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, Rod Pelley and Devante Smith-Pelly scored in
regulation for Anaheim, which has lost three straight contests. Bobby Ryan
dished out three assists.
Jonas Hiller stopped 35 shots in defeat.
