Man dies after being shot on City's East Side

BUFFALO, NY - Buffalo police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that took place near the intersection of East Delavan and Floss Ave. Friday morning.

The victim is Charles Wyatt, 51, of Buffalo. 

Police responding to the scene around 8:50 a.m. found Wyatt on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

Onlookers told 2 On Your Side that EMTs had been working on Wyatt for a half hour and eventually stabilized him enough to transport him by ambulance to ECMC.

The few dozen residents of the neighborhood that had gathered at the scene applauded first responders as the victim was taken away.  However, he did succumb to his injuries a short time later.

Detectives are still investigating the shooting and ask anyone with knowledge to come forward or call the confidential tip-line at 847-2255.
