CITY OF TONAWANDA, NY-Five cases of booster club candy bars are among the items police say were taken by a pair of young thieves during a mini crime wave in the City of Tonawanda.
Warren Bellinger, 18, of Lancaster, and a 14--year-old female, a reported runaway from Buffalo, were arrested early Friday morning when someone reported seeing teens wiping the door handles of a vehicle off Gibson St.
The investigation that followed alleges the two broke into two homes, stole two cars, and made off with numerous items from those vehicles and homes, including the candy bars.
Bellinger is facing four felony charges and five misdemeanors. He's currently being held on $20,000 bail. The 14-year-old will faces charges in Family Court.
Police still have some unclaimed property from these incidents, including rings, keys and electronic devices. If you think any of the items might belong to you, you're asked to contact City of Tonawanda Police at 692-2121.
When asked by police about wiping the vehicle door handles, the teens said they were wiping off their fingerprints after seeing it done on a TV show.
