BUFFALO, N.Y.-- Firefighters are investigating an overnight vacant house fire that happened on Wade Avenue in Buffalo around 2 a.m. Sunday.
Firefighters say the initial call indicated that there may have been someone inside, but first responders did not find anyone in the home at the time of the fire.
Battalion Chief Reddington with the Buffalo Fire Department says the cause of the fire is under investigation, but a gas can was discovered on the first floor in the living room, which is believed to be involved in the cause.
One firefighter was taken to ECMC to evaluate a knee injury.
The home is estimated to have about $70,000 worth of damage.
No word on if foul play is suspected, or is someone regularly lives in the home.
