Matt Anderson Honored In West Seneca

WEST SENECA, NY - Just weeks after bringing home the bronze medal in men's volleyball at the Summer Olympics in Rio, Matt Anderson returned to Western New York.

The 2005 graduate of West Seneca West was a huge part of Team USA getting that medal including the match-winning point.
On Friday, his jersey was retired by the school. He talked about how incredible the support here was during and after the Olympics.
"Well again, it shows the character of the area, right? The values that the people here have for someone that they don't even know, for the most part. Some of these teachers were my teachers, but there's a lot of new staff and a lot of new people in the area coming from all over. It's great. It means everything to me," said Anderson.
Anderson says he expects to play for Team USA again in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
