Benefit for Lockport family with quads

LOCKPORT, NY - In October 2009, a Lockport woman gave birth to five babies. Four survived and now friends held a huge benefit Sunday.

Bridgett Maskell and her husband John Maskell knew from the beginning that their children would have some medical issues.

Three of the children have cerebral palsy ranging from mild to severe. Annabelle has severe cerebral palsy and is the only child confined to a wheelchair.

The family estimates an addition and major renovations to their home will cost about $50,000. It will include a handicap-accessible bathroom, wider doorways and allow Annabelle to have her own bedroom.

On Saturday, a local contractor having seen our report called 2 On Your Side to offer his help in making those renovations happen.

The benefit was held at South Lockport Fire Hall.
