ALBANY, N.Y. - A bill signed this week could impact your next car inspection.
The law taking effect in the new year requires shops to make sure windows that come in for inspections don't block any more than 30% of the light that comes in.
If the windows fail, the whole inspection fails.
Police already had the ability to enforce this, but this is the first time the state is telling auto shops to do this as well.
Some shops say, though, that this means they'll have to buy a new tool, and it means inspections will take longer.
