GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. -- A man sustained serious injuries after falling 15 feet while working on a home in Grand Island Tuesday afternoon, officials say.
The 52-year-old man's name is not being released at this time, said Grand Island Fire Chief Matt Osinski.
Osinski also said bystanders saw the man fall from a second story of the private residence he was working on when his ladder slid out from under him.
The man was working on a residence on Park Place Drive off of Harvey Road.
Osinski said the man was conscious when officials arrived on the scene around noon. However, due to the extent of the man's injuries, he was transported by Mercy Flight to the Erie County Medical Center, where he remained Tuesday evening, Osinski said.
