Man accused of impersonating police officer

LANCASTER, N.Y. -- Lancaster Police are asking for information on a man they say was charged with impersonating a police officer over the weekend.

46-year-old James Ward is charged with Criminal Impersonation of a Police Officer.

Police say he made badges and I.D. cards, claiming to be an officer. He showed them to police after being pulled over during a traffic stop.

They also say he drove around in a blue 2014 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck with a red flashing dash light.

Ward told police that he travels throughout New York and neighboring states.

Anyone with information about him is asked to call Lieutenant Rozler with Lancaster Police at 716-683-2800 extension 105.
