Maintenance to affect 911, long distance calls

Cell Maintenace To Impact Alfred & Almond

ALLEGANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- Those who have Frontier Communications in Alfred and Almond N.Y. in Allegany County will not be able to call 911 or make long-distance calls using landline phones for about two hours due to maintenance, according to a public service announcement.

Pat Amendola, Frontier Communications Manager, said the work is scheduled for 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tuesday. 

During that time, customers should dial local numbers for fire, police and ambulance services if there is an emergency, she said. 

Customers in Jasper, Andover and Greenwood N.Y. will also be affected, Amendola said.
