Lower cost Naloxone becomes available this week

Lower Cost Naloxone Available This Week

NEW YORK STATE -- The state has made a medicine used to reverse overdoses available in pharmacies at little to no cost.

It's part of a new program starting Wednesday.

The program allows people with prescription health insurance coverage, including Medicaid and Medicare, to get up to $40 in co-payment assistance for Naloxone.

For those who don't have insurance, you'll still be able to get it for free through the state's opioid overdose prevention program.
