3-Year-Old Dies After Being Pulled From Pool in Lancaster

LANCASTER, N.Y. - A 3-year-old girl died after family members pulled her and her brother from a backyard pool Friday evening.

It happened at 36 Rose Street just after 7:30 p.m.

Police say the girl and her 4-year-old brother were unresponsive when they were found.

First responders treated the children at the scene, and they were both taken to St. Joseph Hospital. The girl died a short time later. The boy was later transferred to Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo. He is currently listed in critical condition.

Police have not said how long the children are believed to have been in the water.

We were told the brother and sister live at the home with their father and grandmother. The father and an aunt pulled the children from the pool.

Lancaster Police haven't released any names. They are still investigating the incident.
