Kaleida's President and CEO Resigns

BUFFALO, NY-- Kaleida Health and Great Lakes Health System's President and CEO is stepping down.

James R. Kaskie announced his resignation effective immediately from both groups.

Jody Lomeo, CEO of ECMC and vice chair of Great Lakes, has been named interim CEO of both Kaleida Health and Great Lakes. Lomeo will also continue in his role at ECMC.

Leaders of local unions which represent nearly 8,000 Kaleida employees are closely watching this change in leadership. They have been in intense negotiations with Kaleida management over the possibility of shifting positions. They acknowledge there could be some job cuts but feel more employees can be trained for other positions to lessen the impact.

Cori Gambini of CWA Local 1168 and James Scordato of 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers say they want to arrange a meeting as soon as possible to discuss these issues with interim CEO Jody Lomeo.
