COLDEN, NY - A GoFundMe page has been set up by family and friends of Wendy Bus, who was hit and killed while pushing a grocery cart in the parking lot of an East Aurora supermarket on June 25.
The accident happened in the Tops parking lot on Grey Street. The 18-year-old man who hit Bus has not been charged, but East Aurora Police Chief Shane Krieger told 2 On Your Side that "it's possible" charges will be filed.
William Oakley, Bus' brother-in-law, set up the GoFundPage for Wendy's husband Mark and her two children, Auston and Sophia.
"Our hearts break with the unexpected and tragic passing of Wendy Bus," Oakley wrote on the GoFundMe page. "Wendy, whose loving, kind and gentle nature touched so many lives, was hit by a vehicle as she walked out of the supermarket in East Aurora after picking up her son from work and shopping for her family. Her loving care for her husband, children, family, and friends was inspiring to all who knew her. "
