Garden Village Plaza plan approved

Garden Village Plaza Plans Moving Forward

CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - The Garden Village Plaza on French and Union Roads in Cheektowaga has been vacant for years, but that may soon change.

The town planning board approved Benderson Development's plans to rezone the commercial plaza for warehouse space. They'll demolish the existing buildings, add truck bays, and do new landscaping. Planning board officials believe the public will approve of the project.
"We think it's a good project. Benderson has put additional green space and landscaping in. They're going to beautify the area. And I think it's going to help the tax base of the town and we'll also dress up the place," said Planning Board Chair Stan Kaznowski.
The plans will now go to the town board for a public hearing before construction can begin.
