Former firefighter may take plea deal

Plea Deal Considered In N.Tonawanda Arson

NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. - A former volunteer firefighter charged with arson may be looking at a plea deal.

Matthew Jurado, is accused of setting a fire at the home of Ken Walker in August.

2 On Your Side has learned the Niagara County District Attorney's office is looking at a plea offer.

Walker tells 2 On Your Side's Claudine Ewing he is "OK" with a plea offer as long as it is reasonable.

The FBI is still looking into who wrote and sent a racist letter to Walker.  The letter used  "N" word and threatened him to resign or regret it.  Walker's home was torched a few days after the letter was received.

Jurado is free on bail, but could face some serious time in prison if convicted at trial.
